Window Card

I finally got around to playing with the PoppyStamps Small Madison Window and various dies I have. I used Memory Box Latte card stock for the embossed backgound piece. I embossed it with Tim Holtz's Bricked Texture Fade Embossing Folder. It comes with another embossing folder called Wooden. I had trouble using it last year when I first tried it out, but I then found out the "recipe" for running through my Big Shot and it worked perfectly this time. I used my Ink Blending Tool and rubbed on Ranger Distress Gathered Twigs ink onto the brick. I love how it turned out.

In the Small Flower Box, I used the Wildflower Patch die. The flowers are so tiny and delicate. I also used my Punch Bunch fern punch and filled the box up with the fern leaves to make it look full and not so empty looking.

You can't see it in the photo, but I placed a piece of Ellen Hutson's Crystal Clear Plastic behind the window and in front of the patterned piece of paper. This Crystal Clear Plastic is the best out there! I have never seen plastic so perfectly crystal clear. It really does look like a window when you see it up close.

Tulips

I love tulips and especially love Karen Lockhart's Spring Tulips stamp. I don't have much to say about this card as there is nothing new that I did! I'm actually allergic to flowers or anything that is fragrant so I don't have flowers in the house. I do enjoy flowers from outside or rather, looking at them from afar.

Arboscello Tree

I kept thinking that this card needed more on it. But I could not figure out what else to add. Sometimes simple is just fine! I used Dave's new Memory Box Juniper card stock to die cut his Arboscello Tree die and placed it on Thistle card stock. Juniper and Thistle go together perfectly! That is about it for this card.

Three Mushrooms

I was inspired to buy Karen Lockhart's Three Perfect Mushrooms stamp from Cindy Lyles! Her posts here and here. I love what Cindy did with these mushrooms!

I used Dave's new Memory Box Aloe for the card base. I used Dave's Memory Box Whimsey Circle die that I bought over a year ago and had not used. I remember when I bought it, I sort of wondered why I had. Seeing the picture of a die and even looking at the die itself, I didn't realize how intricate the loops were on the die. You really need to cut the die cut out to see how it really looks. I was judging off the picture of it and even judging off looking at the die itself and wasn't all that thrilled. I should have known better! Dave has been putting out the most intricate dies out there. Now I LOVE this die! So beautiful. My image covers up a lot of the die cut piece, but you can see how thin and intricate the loops are that give it that extra special look. I used Vanilla Bean and Meadow card stocks to die cut the pieces out.

Inchie Plus Garden Roses

I decided to use Karen Lockhart's Garden Roses stamp again, but use it in a different way from what I did earlier this year. I initially stamped it out on an Inchie, but wasn't happy with it. I wanted more of the image to show. Then I remembered the Inchie Plus size!

The card layout was inpsired by Cindy Lyles' card here, using the Memory Box Piestra Tile Die. I also remembered I bought some of the May Arts Faux Suede Olive Leaves from Cindy quite awhile ago and had not used them!

I rounded the corners of the Inchie Plus with my Corner Chomper in the 1/8" size. I love rounding out the edges of the Inchies with this tool!

Lenten Roses

I was inpsired by Julia Stainton to use my Sticky Back Canvas for the card I am sharing today. Julia made a beautiful card for Ellen Hutson's CLASSroom here. I loved the use of canvas and using our ink pads to watercolor with. I haven't watercolored in a long time. I don't have that beautiful Basic Grey stamp that Julia used, but I remembered I had a Flourishes Lenten Rose clear set that I had not used yet.

I stamped the image with Ranger's Jet Black Archival ink pad as you can use this for watercoloring. I stamped it on Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back Canvas and heat set the ink. I used various Distress ink pads to watercolor the image with. I used one of my clear stamp blocks to brush the ink pad colors on and used my waterbrush. I used Hero Arts Soft Brown ink pad to stamp the Hero Arts Old Letter Writing stamp and stamped that on the canvas after I did all the watercoloring as Julia instructed in her post.

Mother's Day Card

I finally got a card done! Took long enough. I was fussing over this one and didn't think I was going to get it uploaded for today. I have used this House Mouse image before and thought it would be fun to use it again, but do something different with it. This is the post in 2010 where I used this image. This time around I thought it would be fun to use Inchies. I rounded the corners of the 4 end pieces with my Corner Chomper. Yes, the Corner Chompers cut through Inchies!

This image reminds me of my mom. She was always fixing things for me when I was little. That's little Monica patiently waiting for Amanda to sew up her stuffed mouse's foot!

I found an Etsy felt shop and ordered 3 colors of felt recently. The store is called Felt on the Fly. Janet, the store owner, sells 100% wool felt. I do like it. The felt flower you see on this card is from Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals die. The felt color I used from the Felt on the Fly Etsy store is called Light Pink.

Another boring post for you today as I still have no card to post. I stamped and colored an Inchie, but didn't want to just slap it on a card. I don't have time for stamping during the week anymore so it leaves the weekend. I don't stamp fast like a lot of stamping bloggers out there. I work slow as I love detail.

Lion & Lamb Card

I love this cute lion hugging the little lamb from Kim Hughes' Paper Smooches Eco Friendly set! I used a Fabriano note card which are so beautiful and such good quality. I used Dave's Memory Box Dancing Tulips Die and some pink felt to die cut the tulips. I think I am now getting addicted to felt!

I have Dave's Memory Box Tulip Petals Die and they do go with these stems from the Dancing Tulips Die. I'll be making a card using them together at some point. I've been playing with it for awhile now and fussing too much over it!

Neighborhood Houses

The cute houses and the little bird you see on my card today are from Claudine Hellmuth Studio Clear Stamps set called Neighborhood. I love coloring houses! The stamps that Claudine released previously were more bold and larger stamps. More for home decor items although they were also for scrapbook pages and cards. I prefer smaller fine sketched images so I was glad to see that Claudine released these new sets.

The branch is Memory Box Woodland Branch die that I have used in the past. I wanted some type of die cut on the card with the houses. The felt flower is Memory Box Scalloped Posey die. I love this die! For cards however, you need to either mail it in a larger envelope and pay more postage or hand deliver to the recipient. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody 6x6 paper pad. I applied some Glossy Accents on the windows of both houses.

Snail Mail

Does anyone out there still like to get snail mail? You know, mail in your mailbox. Things sure have changed over the years. Now that there is paperless billing, you receive a lot of your bills in your email inbox! But I still like to open my mailbox and see what came in the mail.

Most of the images used on my card for today are from Lawn Fawn's You've Got Mail stamp set. This is one of their new sets. When I saw the new sets out from Lawn Fawn, I immediately knew I wanted this set as it has a lot of possibilities. I love the mailbox the most. But I also love the postcard image. Lots you can do with that as well. The little snail at the top of the postcard image is from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the 'Burbs stamp set. The patterned papers I used are from October Afternoon's Boarding Pass 8x8 paper pad.

Poppin' Up

I love this Lawn Fawn set that was released in December. I sure had a devil of a time getting my hands on this set. It kept selling out in a couple of the webstores I shop from! I just love these 2 pieces of toast jumping out of the toaster and the cute sentiment that is in the set, "popping up to say". The "hello" sentiment is a separate stamp in the set.

I used Memory Box Peach Fuzz for the card base. I don't use peach colors much in my cards, but that is always taken care of when someone puts out a really nice and pretty paper pad with peach colors!! The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody 6x6 paper pad.

I left the card blank inside as you could use it for: "Popping up to say hello", open the card and you can write inside "and Happy Birthday" or "and a special thank you for the gift".

Mice Are Back!

The House Mouse mice are back! I decided it was time for the mice to make an appearance. I thought this cute image would be a good one for an anniversary card. Or I will leave blank inside and use for whatever might come up. That is Amanda on the left and Mudpie on the right. The mice have names! And they list the names on the side of the stamp otherwise they sort of all look the same if you know what I mean.

I used PoppyStamps Gentle Leaf Die. Ohhh, I LOVE this die! So beautiful. The yellow begonia flower is one that I made. Techniques I learned from Susan Tierney Cockburn. This link is to Susan's baking and cooking blog.

Another Thank You Card

I cannot believe that it is already March! Where is the time going?!

This is another thank you card to go along with the thank you card I posted on Tuesday that I plan to give as a gift. I used the same layout, but used Kim Hughes' Paper Smooches Promenade stamp set. This is a cute set that has a shop theme. The Thank You is from a set that Kim designed when she was with Cornish Heritage Farms. The set is called Making the Grade.

I applied some Ranger Glossy Accents to the lantern that is hanging in front of the shop's window. Other than that, nothing different or special about this card.
