Rolled Pieces of Paper

Today I am sharing a card that I totally copied from Cindy Lyles! Here is the link to Cindy's card using the same die and rolled papers. I used different patterned papers, from October Afternoon's Sidewalks 8x8 paper pad.

When I first saw Cindy's card, I thought, what a beautiful card. And so unique, rolling up pieces of card stock scraps. And also, the use of the Memory Box Amira Flourish die. I never thought much of that die when I first saw it online. Some dies, you just look at and think, it's okay. But for this intricate die, once you see how it actually cuts out and you see all the very delicate detail, then it's, WOW, gotta have that one!!

I love the unique look with rolling up card stock. It was fun making this card. I recently saw a card and unfortunately, I did not keep track of who's it was, but this person made a house out of these rolled papers. And I just saw this cute tree made of rolled papers from Kimberly of My Craft Spot!

Holiday Tags

Today I have a tag to share with you that I made for my sister-in-law. I gave them to her on Thanksgiving. The tags above are the same one, I just thought it would look nice to have two in the picture! The idea of the chipboard house came from Cindy Lyles' card here. I purchased the Jenni Bowlin chipboard houses from Cindy and loved how she decorated them and put them on a card.

I took a tiny piece of cotton ball and put that under the chimney to make it look like smoke coming out of it! I used Claudine Hellmuth's Gesso and Blank Canvas (white) Studio Paint on the little house. I applied some Ranger Rock Candy Distress Stickles around the metal rimmed tag. Michelle Wooderson was selling some glitter rimmed metal tags, but I am not sure she used Rock Candy Distress Stickles. I came across another individual's blog where the person said they used Rock Candy Distress Stickles around the metal rim. I really believe in making sure I give credit where I saw and used the same idea, but I just cannot remember the person's blog.

Bird Post-It Notebooks

I made more post-it-notebooks, this time with a cute little bird on them. I made the branch one first and then remembered I had bought Dave's Vintage Bird Cage die - the small one. This die is under his kid's company, Poppystamps. So I made a post-it-notbeook with the bird cage. I think I like the bird cage one better! The bird is from the Sizzix Oval Frame, Bird & Pendant die. I cut the bird out with Craft-a-Board and then die cut the bird with patterned paper from October Afternoon's Boarding Pass 8x8 paper pad. I used October Afternoon's Seaside line - 12x12 Beach Chair paper.

Another Bear Card

I have another Memory Box bear to share with you today. This bear is named Colin. I bought Fredward and Colin bears, but I did not buy the matching dies. I like the matching dies, but find I don't use them a lot. For this card, I cut Colin out myself! I also used the window die from Dave's kids company, Poppystamps. Love the window dies! I'm not sure that people realize that Dave started Poppystamps with his 2 kids a few years ago or longer actually and he calls it their company!

You can't see it in this picture, but I used a heavy weight crystal clear plastic that Ellen Hutson sells. It is the clearest plastic I have run across. I rarely use clear plastic, but I love this one!! So I used it for the window panes. Ellen commented on her blog about using the heavy weight plastic for the window panes so that is where I got the idea.

The branch is Dave's Woodland Branch die and I used Dave's idea in his blog post/video. I used his idea of using the Stampendous White Pearl Glitter over Ranger's Star Dust Stickles. I think Dave used Diamond Stickles, but I do not have any of that so I used what I had - Star Dust Stickles! And it doesn't matter since the pearl glitter covers up the Stickles. But it does look so much like snow on the delicate branch!

Plate of Cookies

Don't these cookies look yummy?! This is a Hero Arts stamp from the 2010 holiday line and I used it on the 2011 desk calendar. I wanted to do some cards with it last year, but didn't have time. I suddenly remembered the stamp last week and pulled it out and inked it up! I used Adirondack Espresso Dimensional Pearls for the chocolate chips on the round cookies. I wanted to add an embellishment on the card so I punched out some Craft-A-Board and red card stock with my round punch. The snowflake is from the Hero Arts & Sizzix Stamp & Diecut Joy Snowman set. I ran one of the snowflake dies and patterned paper through my Big Shot.

Bear Card

This cute little guy is named Fredward Bear. He was designed by Dave of Memory Box. I thought he was very cute and had to have him. He does have a matching die to die cut him if you prefer. I made the little embellishment on the upper right hand corner. I was inspired by Cindy Lyles' card. I love the use of punches to use up scraps! I have so many scraps and end up throwing them out when I start to accumulate way too many of them. I punched out 2 circles, one in Cranberry and one in the patterned paper I used from Jillibean Soup. Then I used a Punch Bunch Fern punch I had and then added a red button to the embellishment. These were fun to make!

Mouse & Squirrel Card

My word, I sure took forever trying to figure out what to do at the top of this card! I had different ribbon tied at the top, even did one with some card stock. So what you see is the finished card - finally! LOL! The cute mouse and squirrel are from the same Taylored Expressions stamp set I used a few weeks ago with the deer and birch trees. I love the little paws on the mouse and squirrel, how they have them held - not sure what it is, but looks so adorable! I used Taylor's tree die to cut the pieces of the patterned card stock and also the piece they are taped to.

For the Cranberry layer and the patterned paper, I used Sizzix's Rounded Tags Framelits. To get the smaller layer, I cut the Cranberry card stock with my X-acto knife. I noticed it on one of Cindy Lyles cards and she has a link to where she learned it from - Becca Feeken. Here is a link to Cindy's post and Becca's video post.

Thank You Holiday Card

Happy Saturday! Today I have a thank you card to share. Last year I made a few thank you holiday cards to give to my niece in her stocking as she always sends out thank you cards for Christmas gifts she receives. I decided to make more this year and this one is for my sister-in-law. I used PaperTrey Ink's new In the Meadow stamp set and matching dies.

Snowman & Friends

I love Lawn Fawn's Making Frosty Friends set that was released a few months ago. I used 4 Lawn Fawn sets on this card! The snowman and the little bird are from the Making Frosty Friends set. The kitty is from Critters in the 'Burbs. The log is from Critters in the Forest. The Warm Winter Wishes saying goes with the Winter Fox stamp.

I colored the mini rose ribbon with Ranger's Pine Needles Distress Stain. I was looking for something to match the patterned paper. I then remembered the Distress Stains and found that the Pine Needles matched perfectly! Another use for your Distress Stains.

The layout for this card belongs to Mish Wooderson.
