I have another sympathy card today. Not that I am waiting for people to depart, but as I mentioned a few weeks ago, it really is nice to have these cards on hand. It's always fun to whip up a birthday card. It's never fun to have to quickly make a sympathy card and yet you want some thought put into it for someone's family that is grieving.
Dave just released his Valentine dies and stamps for 2012 and he has again outdone himself! This Chrysanthemum Frame stamp is one of his new ones for Valentine's. It matches the Blank Ticket die that he released last year. I hope we see more stamps like this to fit into the Blank Ticket die. When I was looking at this stamp, I thought that it would be appropriate for other cards. Thank you, thinking of you and I immediately thought it would make a beautiful sympathy card. Then I had a light bulb go on and thought of the Wrought Iron Gate die that Dave released last year that I had bought, but had not used yet. I thought it might go well on this stamped image and it does! LOVE this gate! It is simple, elegant and so intricate. I also thought it would be nice to put a butterfly on the image. So I used Dave's Butterfly Delights die where the butterflies all cut out and they are very small. I used cork to cut out the butterfly. I used a different stamp set for the saying that I stamped at the top of the image. I have used this stamp before. It is from the Unity With Sympathy set which is one of the best sets I have bought.
The above photo shows the inside of the card with the saying. This too is from the Unity With Sympathy set.
I hope you have a good weekend and I'll be back on Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by!
